SS 420 – Martensitic Stainless Steel

Product Description:

SS 420 is a martensitic stainless steel containing approximately 12–14% chromium. It is magnetic and can be hardened by heat treatment to provide excellent mechanical properties. Known for its high strength, moderate corrosion resistance, and good wear resistance, SS 420 is suitable for a range of applications requiring both strength and corrosion resistance.

Due to its relatively high carbon content, it offers superior hardness after heat treatment, which makes it useful for cutting tools, valve components, and other wear-resistant applications.
